Walt Watson first began working with steel as a union welder in 1969 in New York. His father and grandfather were both involved in the metal industry, so perhaps molten steel does run in Walt's veins. In 1980, Walt founded his own industrial sheet metal business in Corning, New York, specializing in custom fabrication work for Fortune 500 clients such as Ingersoll Rand, Corning Inc., Dupont, Philips Lighting, and The Metro Transit Authority (New York City).
Walt watson has been welding metal and making metal products for the last 35 years. He has creating lamps, lighting lites lamp shades and other steel metal steel lamps lightbulbs andlighting by designer walt watsonand sheetmetal products Walt’s creativity became directed toward custom steel fabrication for residential and commercial buildings. He was retained by top architects and designers to create and build pieces for homes and corporate offices. In 1987, Walt and his wife Nicole opened "Transitions", a showroom at 309 East 9th Street in New York City’s East Village to highlight their artistry—Walt in steel, Nicole in fabric—available to individuals as well as the design trade. In Spring 2001, the Watsons relocated their life and business to California’s Central Coast—with a showroom in downtown San Luis Obispo and their design & build studio at See Canyon in San Luis Obispo.
